This past week I have been listening to several really great talks during the Right Brainer's Business Video Summit. I learned about this summit through another blog I follow called The Abundant Artist. I am so glad I took the time to learn more about this, and give it at try. It's free, so I had nothing to lose, but I was very unfamiliar with the whole concept. While the video plays, there's a scrolling chat going on at the same time. It was very overwhelming at first. I learned quickly that it was better for me to just turn up the volume and listen in the other room while I'm painting, or eating lunch. Each day, I have walked away with at least one great piece of advice. However, the one that really struck a chord with me was about finding your soul mission.
I already know I'm passionate about painting. I love it. But finding your soul mission delves deeper than that. I need to figure out WHY I'm passionate about painting. I have been feeling very unfocused in my work lately, and wondering if what I'm doing is important. I need to figure out why it's important - my reason for doing it - and I don't mean just to make money. Something beyond myself. Why is it important to the world? I need to figure out my purpose. Once I define my soul mission I will be able to focus my work on that goal. I will have direction.
I think this would be a wonderful thing for everyone to define in their lives, don't you? Do you know your soul mission? You may very well have several. They could be business related, or personal. Can you define them? Something to think about.
